Bilingual Therapy
Stepping Stone Therapy Center provides specialized therapy services to bilingual children and adolescents. Therapy can focus on English or Greek or a combination of both, depending on various factors such as dominant family language, educational setting, linguistic level etc.
Our area of expertise focuses on developmental disorders (ASD, syndromes etc.) and specifically on language disorders, speech sound disorders, sensory processing disorder, fine and gross motor difficulties and learning disabilities. Furthermore, we are highly experienced in early intervention, serving the needs of children as early as 18 months old.
Services are provided by certified, highly trained and specialized therapists who are either bilingual or fluent in the English language and include the following:
- 1 Εarly intervention: Early intervention is an umbrella term for services provided in the early years of a child’s development. The program is divided in three units covering an age range from 0 months to 5 years old and it addresses the needs of children who present motor, language, communication and social difficulties.
The program combines a variety of therapy sessions, designed to address the specific needs and/or difficulties involved in each individual. The nature of the children’s age who participate in the program sets the basis for an evidence-based play approach, either educational, structured or free play. - 2 Speech and language therapy: sessions are individual and are designed to address language and/or speech sound disorders in children and adolescents. Services are provided by a bilingual licensed speech-language pathologist trained in the USA.
- 3 Οccupational therapy: sessions take place on an individual basis and address difficulties in fine and gross motor development, sensory processing disorders, ADHD, executive planning disorder and difficulties associated with ASD and syndromes. The Occupational Therapy room includes, but is not limited to, a climbing wall, indoor climbing bars, swings and trampoline.
